Transcript for "Art Works in Peoria"

A dollar is a dollar. One hundred pennies. Ten dimes. Four quarters. Not much in today's economy. Yet more than the per capita spending on the arts in the United States today. But that's another story.

A dollar is a dollar. But give that dollar to an artist, an it becomes: music, theater, dance, sculpture, poetry, works of art beyond compare, that work to transform education, inspire innovation and stimulate the economy.

A dollar is a dollar - and this one is mine. And mine. And mine. I am a taxpayer. And I live in Peroria, Illinois, a wonderful little city with a vibrant arts community that creates truly exciting music, theater, dance, sculpture, and poetry. Beautiful works of art that are working to transform education, inspire innovation, and stimulate the economy.

That's right. Art works, right here in Peoria. So if this is my dollar, and Peoria is my community, wouldn't it make sense to invest in my community by growing the arts here?

Where I live.
