Fellowships in prose (fiction and creative nonfiction) or poetry are available to published creative writers of exceptional talent. Fellowships enable recipients to set aside time for writing, research, travel, and general career advancement. Fellowships for Creative Writers are for $25,000.

This program operates on a two-year cycle with fellowships in prose and poetry available in alternating years. The upcoming deadline (March 3, 2008) is for poetry fellowships. Individuals may apply only once each year.
