To support the presentation of a new theater work. Wedding
Dance by playwright Dominic Taylor will be presented as part of
the Project Guidestar Residency Program.

To support the development and production of An American
Daughter by Wendy Wasserstein. The production will be directed
by Artistic Director Molly Smith. Set in Washington, D.C., the play
comments on the intersection of political and private life in a
bold manner.
Association of Performing Arts Presenters, Inc.

To support expansion of professional development programs for
the presenting field. Arts Presenters will augment services at the
Emerging Leadership Institute and its Winter Institute and Members'
Conference, as well as initiate research and program design to
address issues of board training.

15th annual Choral Tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr. Choral Arts
Society, Howard University Choir, a children's choir and a gospel

To support the second round of the National College
Choreography Initiative, a project that will bring classic American
dances of the past century and newly commissioned works to students
and audiences in communities across the nation. The project will
involve two parts: the reconstruction or restaging of masterworks
of the 20th century by historically significant choreographers, and
the creation or restaging of dances by contemporary
choreographers.

To support the third year of a three-year study on the Impact of
the Arts on Older Americans, to measure and evaluate the

interagency agreements with other federal agencies and gift
funds.

To support Soundtracks: Music and Film, a festival examining
the history of music in film. Music director Leonard Slatkin and
guest conductor John Williams will conduct the National Symphony
Orchestra in performances and will lead discussions and
demonstrations.
Octagon, the Museum of The American Architectural
Foundation

To support the conservation of the only extant original
architectural model (1969-71) of the World Trade Center. Made by
the offices of Minoru Yamasaki Associates for the Port Authority of
New York and New Jersey, the presentation model is all that remains
to document that site in its original form.

To support ArteAmerica, a series of performances, residencies
and radio programs that celebrate Latino culture. In a consortium
with GALA Hispanic Theatre and the Latin American Youth Center,
these will be sponsored events in venues throughout Washington and
on radio.

To support a production of The Day Room by novelist and
playwright Don DeLillo. The play will be directed by Artistic
Director Howard Shalwitz and will feature long-time company members
who appeared in the theater's 1989 production of the same play.
