To support publication, promotion and distribution costs for
issues of Bamboo Ridge. Proposed issues include a 25th
anniversary edition and a special issue on Hawaiian writers of
Korean heritage.
Bishop Museum
Honolulu, HI

$75,000
To support the preservation of the museum's vast Hawaiian
Cultural Collection. Environmental stabilization and climate
control improvements of Hawaiian Hall are critical to saving the
collection, which reflects the diverse legacy of Native Hawaiian
culture and 19th and 20th century Hawaiian immigration.
Honolulu Theatre for Youth
Honolulu, HI

$23,000
To support the production of a play. Y. York's Garden of
Rikki Tikki Tavi will be directed by Artistic Director by Mark
Lutwak and presented to Oahu children and families in the spring of
2003.
University of Hawaii at Manoa

To support publication, promotion, distribution and related
expenses for issues of Manoa: A Pacific Journal of
International Writing. Scheduled issues will feature Cambodian
and Cambodian-American writing and postmodern Chinese fiction.
