To support publication and promotion of issues of Calyx,
a journal of art and literature by women. The journal will increase
honoraria to writers and artists, launch a direct mail subscription
campaign and coordinate a reading series for emerging Calyx
authors.

To support the 10th anniversary performance of John Adams'
Violin Concerto and educational activities associated with
the project. The concert will feature the violinist for whom the
work was written, Jorja Fleezanis, and will include string and
composition workshops, a new music recital and a lecture.

Alexie.
Northwest Film Center (Portland Art Museum)

To support the Northwest Film and Video Festival and its tour
throughout the Northwest. The festival showcases new work by media
artists living in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and
British Columbia.

To support two concurrent world premiere productions.
Daughters of the Revolution and Mothers Against, by
Tony Award-winning British playwright David Edgar, will be directed
by Tony Taccone of Berkeley Repertory Theatre.

To support the performance and recording of orchestral works by
American composers. The Oregon Symphony will premiere a commission
by composer John Peel and record John La Montaine's Wilderness
Journal and Andre Previn's Piano Concerto.

To support a playwright residency and the development and
production of a new play. Itamar Moses will be in residence at
Portland Center Stage to develop Outrage, a satire about
personal beliefs in contemporary society.

To support the west coast premiere of A View from the
Bridge by William Bolcom. Adapted from the play by Arthur

To support ArtExplosion 2003, a showcase for Portland's
Asian-American performing artists. In addition to supporting two
days of performances, ArtExplosion 2003 will commission new
multidisciplinary and collaborative works.

To support the presentation of dance companies as part of The
