To support the premiere production of Maria Kizito by Erik Ehn.
Artistic Director Del Hamilton will direct the piece and
choreograpers/ performance artists Laurie Carlos and Robbie
McCauley of New York City's Urban Bush Women will play leading
roles in the production.

in community-based art practices through residency activities,
workshops, cultural exchanges, and informal discussions.

To support reviews of contemporary artists' work in the bi-monthly
journal Art Papers. The reviews section includes an average
of 32 articles by writers, many of whom will be publishing for the
first time. Curated by Big Ballyhoo, a collective of feminist
artists, the project will be presented during the LAB's 20th
anniversary season.

To support a residency for playwright Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.
Residency activities will include playwriting classes and
workshops, and will culminate in three publicly staged readings of
his new play, Rough Magic.

To support ACCESS, an electronic marketing initiative designed to
benefit Fulton County's arts community Small and mid-sized arts
organizations in metropolitan Atlanta will receive technology
support to allow them to benefit from a newly developed Web portal
that provides unified marketing for the arts.

To support the 28th Atlanta Film Festival. The event presents the
best of current independent film and video to an average audience
of 15,000 people.

To support the production of an experimental documentary film and
installation work by Ariana Gerstein and Monteith McCollum. Milk
will examine the controversies surrounding the many uses of this
fluid food.
National Black Arts Festival

To support a series of performances at the National Black Arts
Festival 2004. Under the theme Women of the African Diaspora,
performances will be supplemented by educational activities and
humanities-based events designed to deepen the audience's
connection to artists and the works presented.

To support a collaboration with Berlin's Tanzcompagnie RUBATO. The
project will develop a new work for CORE Performance Company, the
professional dance company of Several Dancers Core, through
residencies in Atlanta and Berlin.

To support the creation, development, and production of a theater
work through the Women in War project. The project will be lead by
Artistic Directors Rachel May, Hope Mirlis, and Michele Pearce, and
filmmaker Carol Cassidy will assist in the research and development
of the piece.
