To support the 7th annual Nordic Roots Festival. The festival will focus on the presentation and education of traditional music from Scandinavian countries, and will include children's theater.

Cityfolk, Inc.

To support the annual Cityfolk Festival. A three-day free arts event offers a wide variety of music by the world's most accomplished traditional musicians, as well as world-renowned traditional visual artists and dance companies.

To support the Multicultural Performing Arts Series. Activities will include public and student matinee performances, in-school lecture-demonstrations, and artists' workshops.

First Night Providence, Inc. (consortium)

To support a consortium project to produce FirstWorksProv Festival 2005, a series that presents New England performance premieres. In partnership with the City of Providence, the festival will be extended into the community through forums, workshops, lectures, and discounted admissions.

To support a series of performances and an expansion of related residency activities. More than half of the presentations will highlight Hawaiian-based music, theater, dance events, and traditional storytelling.

New Art Publications

To support the annual issues of AMERICAS. The publication will feature interviews with Latin American and Caribbean writers, artists, musicians, and architects, and will include original translations of poetry and fiction.

To support the production, documentation, and preservation of significant dance and theater performances and oral histories by notable performing artists. Performances and oral histories will be recorded, and 50 hours of deteriorating oral history material will be conserved.

To support Phase Two of a three-year preservation plan to save and make accessible culturally significant videotapes from the Fales Library's Downtown Collection. More than 1,700 videotapes of dance, theater, artists' interviews, and performance art from New York (1970-1990) are included in the collection, and many are in danger of being lost.

Seattle International Children's Festival

To support the 20th annual Seattle International Children's Festival and the 7th annual Festival in Tacoma, and related education and outreach activities. The project also will provide teachers with an enriched curriculum by linking the festival's cultural opportunities to classroom activities.

To support Percussion: A Worldwide Celebration. The project will bring together the diverse Houston community with a celebration of percussion.

Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall

To support a series of schooltime performances and related educational activities. More than 15,000 students from four counties will be transported to the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall for performances.

World Arts West

To support the arts education program People Like Me. The program will include performances presented at several Bay Area theaters for students in kindergarten through sixth grades.
