To support the dissemination of materials related to programming for Architecture and . . ., a year-long series of events celebrating the 125th anniversary of the Architecture League. Materials will include an event catalogue and downloadable and CD-ROM versions of lectures and symposia.

To support a consortium project for the commission of a landscape installation, Skybowl, by artist/architect Maya Lin. Developed in collaboration with the Nez Perce tribe, Skybowl will feature stories of the tribe and its perspective of the Lewis and Clark journey.

To support workshops, a publication, and a tool kit for use in encouraging local leaders to develop pedestrian-friendly road standards and designs. The materials will be provided free-of-charge and available on the Congress for the New Urbanism web site.

To support a consortium project for a waterfront landscape design in Portland, Maine. Working with the Maine Department of Transportation, an artist team will transform an environmentally damaged waterfront area into a coastal park that interprets Maine's cultural and environmental history.

To support a consortium project for the design and production of a site-specific, noncommercial architectural installation at the P.S. 1 Contemporary Art Center. The design competition will provide critical exposure to emerging architects and designers. The final project will be selected based on artistic merit, innovative content, interpretation of the competition theme, and the ability to work within a budget.

To support a consortium project for the redesign of a Charlottesville neighborhood. Working with Greater Charlottesville Habitat for Humanity and community residents, the Charlottesville Community Design Center will create a mixed-use community on the site of an existing trailer park.

To support a consortium project for educational programming on sustainable design. Working with the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and several city agencies, the Resource Center will introduce environmentally sensitive design practices to the community through public lectures, technical workshops, a commissioned artist residency, and a temporary greenhouse installation in the school's Sculpture Courtyard.

To support the development of form-based land use codes in the Sacramento region as an alternative to conventional statistics-based land use regulations. Form-based codes will promote mixed-use communities in the region's cities and counties, which have agreed to collectively adopt a mixed-use growth policy to reduce traffic and promote a healthy lifestyle.
