To support a site-specific installation and lecture series focused on stimulating discussion of the built environment. Internationally recognized designers and artists will be invited to speak in Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau.

To support digitizing selections from graphic design exhibition catalogues from 1925 to 1980. Images and captions will be scanned and included on a searchable Web site.

To support the exhibition Design: Isamu Kenmochi and Isamu Noguchi. A color catalogue will accompany the show, and the Bamboo Chair (1950) created by the artists will be replicated for the exhibition.

To support Bronx Architecture: An Online Guide for Teachers. The Web site will feature a survey of Bronx architectural styles and their contribution to American art.

To support a Place Matters Toolkit and public programs focused on the preservation of culturally and historically significant sites in New York City. The toolkits will be distributed during public workshops and made available through the Web.

To support an education program about Atlanta's Beltline, an abandoned rail line that is being converted into a linear park. Students from local schools and neighborhood residents will work with designers to examine the historical context and future design possibilities for the park.

To support a publication, citizen's manual, and interactive Web site. In partnership with the City Parks Association, the project will present the outcomes of a community process and design competition on design solutions for vacant urban sites in Philadelphia.

To support a Web site for The Look of Nature: Designing Texas State Parks during the Great Depression. The Web site will promote stewardship of cultural landscapes created by the Civil Conservation Corps.

To support a Web-based publication, Book of Codes, that will document codes and laws that create good urban form. The project will provide access to historic codes and assist designers and planners and the communities they serve.

To support a traveling exhibition and catalogue on the architect Paul R. Williams (1894-1980). The exhibition will include drawings, photographs, models, interior details, and personal ephemera of this prominent African American designer.

University of Texas at Austin (on behalf of Center for Sustainable Development)

To support a New Orleans-based training project that will use salvaged materials for rebuilding and making furniture. The Center for Sustainable Development will connect local resources and residents with architects and designers to create an economy based on sustainable building practices.

Wing Luke Memorial Foundation (aka Wing Luke Asian Museum)

To support preservation and exhibition of spaces in a historic 1910 single-room occupancy hotel originally sited in Seattle's Chinatown. Exhibits at the Wing Luke Asian Museum will incorporate historic furnishings, artifacts, documents, photographs, and oral histories.
