INDIANA Indianapolis Museum of Art (aka IMA) Indianapolis, IN $40,000 CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Museum To support an exhibition of the work of contemporary Afro-Cuban artist Maria Magdalena Campos-Pons (b.1959), with accompanying catalogue. The exhibition will feature paintings, room-size media installations, and large-format Polaroid photographs that the artist has produced during the last 20 years. Latvian Song Festival Inc. Indianapolis, IN $10,000 CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Folk and Traditional Arts To support the 12th Annual United States Latvian Song and Dance Festival. The festival provides a view into the heritage, customs, and traditions of the Latvian people of Northeastern Europe and of their descendants in North America. Roeser, Dana West Lafayette, IN $20,000 CATEGORY: Literature Fellowships FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Literature To support a creative writing fellowship. University of Evansville (on behalf of University of Evansville Press) Evansville, IN $5,000 CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Literature To support the publication and promotion of new anthologies of contemporary poetry. Titles will include Poetic Voices: A Contemporary Anthology of Dramatic Monologues, edited by Samuel Maio, and Modern Love Poems, edited by Henry Russell.
