Louisville, KY $45,000 CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Theater To support the 31st Humana Festival of New American Plays, an annual showcase of new theatrical work featuring American playwrights. Artistic director Marc Masterson will program and oversee the signature event. Kentucky Dance Council, Inc. (aka Louisville Ballet) Louisville, KY $10,000 CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Dance To support the presentation of works by choreographers Twyla Tharp, Mark Godden, Adam Houghland, and Helen Pickett. Reduced-price or free tickets to performances will be made available to underserved areas of the Louisville metropolitan region. Lexington Children's Theatre, Inc. Lexington, KY $10,000 CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Theater To support the production and regional tour of theater works. Anansi by Jeremy Kisling and The Garden of Rikki Tikki Tavi by Y York will tour to underserved communities. Sarabande Books, Inc. Louisville, KY $20,000 CATEGORY: Access to Artistic Excellence FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Literature To support the publication and promotion of collections of poetry and personal narratives. The press will promote the authors online to rural and urban schools and libraries. Skinner, Jeffrey T. Prospect, KY $20,000 CATEGORY: Literature Fellowships FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Literature To support a creative writing fellowship.
