FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Theater To support the adaptation and production of The Wiz for family audiences. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Opera To support an audio recording and performances of Elmer Gantry, by composer Robert Aldridge and librettist Herschel Garfein. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Challenge America To support performances of Winter Voices: Native Stories to Warm the Heart, featuring storyteller, musician, and dancer Thirza Defoe. The organization will partner with Wisconsin Tribal Services to tour the production and accompanying workshops to multiple sites targeting American Indian families. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Presenting To support the John Michael Kohler Arts Center's Connecting Communities and related new commissioned works. Artists will collaborate with area cultural minorities, at-risk youth, unions, industrial workers, seniors, persons with cognitive challenges, and domestic-abuse shelters to develop residency projects and community-based commissions. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Challenge America To support A Call for Art Exhibition, an initiative designed to recognize the artistic accomplishments of artists with disabilities in Wisconsin. Educational tours for youth, the development of publications related to the exhibit, and lectures by artist Jon Wos will assist in reaching the project's goals.
