FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Learning in the Arts To support the Special Education Artists Academy. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Museum To support the conservation and exhibition of a complete set of Tibetan thangkas (scroll paintings) depicting scenes from the life of Je Tsongkhapa (1357-1419). Painted in vivid, elaborate detail, the early 19th-century Tsongkhapa thangkas represent one of only three known complete sets of their kind in the world. Newark Public Radio, Inc. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Museum To support an exhibition and outdoor installation of the work of contemporary artist Chakaia Booker (b. 1953), with accompanying catalogue and education programs. The exhibition will trace the career of Booker, a New Jersey native, examining her choice of materials, working methods, and formal qualities as well as her explorations of race, gender, environment, and society.
