FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Folk and Traditional Arts To support post production of the film Heartland Passage: the Living Cultural Heritage of the Erie Canal. The project will complete the final editing of the half-hour documentary film on the cultural heritage of the Erie Canal and produce a series of occupational folklore and oral history modules focusing on individual raconteurs for use at an exhibit at the Eric Canal Museum and Visitors Center. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Folk and Traditional Arts To support fieldwork focused on the dance traditions of Arlington's Bolivian community. The fieldwork will focus on Bolivian dance as it relates to issues of migration, place, and change, from the perspectives of both the immigrant community and long-time residents. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Literature To support the 2012 AWP conference; the production, printing, and distribution of The Writer's Chronicle; and the continued development of the AWP website, including the web-based AWP Job List. Serving an estimated 9,500 attendees, the three-day conference in Chicago will feature more than 400 readings, forums, and panel discussions, as well as a book fair showcasing the work of more than 550 small presses. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Theater To support a national tour of an original adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island. In partnership with Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts in Longview, Washington, the family-friendly production is planned to tour to venues in California, Florida, Maine, Texas, Washington State, and Wisconsin. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Museum To support production of a permanent collection catalogue of the museum's glass collection. The catalogue will document and provide previously unknown scholarly information about 100 masterworks spanning 3,000 years; the museum's 10,000-piece glass collection is one of the largest and most comprehensive in the world.

FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Visual Arts To support Midwest Matrix, a genealogy of American printmaking in post-World War II Midwest. The oral history project will collect, document, and disseminate the history of fine art printmaking in the Midwest after 1945, focusing on the synergy among post-World War II Midwest universities, printmaking workshops, and their participants (including former service personnel) who were able to continue their education through the GI Bill. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Folk and Traditional Arts To support the Richmond Folk Festival. Designed to capitalize on the success of the National Folk Festival's three-year run in Richmond, the project will present a variety of American traditions in a broad array of music and dance performances, narrative stages, craft exhibits and demonstrations, and regional and ethnic foods.
