Under the direction of urban designer/public art planner Todd Bressi, Arts on the Block will collaborate with the University of Maryland Landscape Architecture program and the YMCA's Youth and Family Services in a community design process to transform an under-utilized parking lot into a neighborhood plaza for cultural, artistic, and recreational purposes.

New work will be created and exhibited during a three-week residency of a group of five ceramic artists and researchers with experience and a keen interest in collaboratively exploring the challenges and possibilities of new digital fabrication; residents will engage in a series of regular collaborative 'think tank' sessions throughout the residency to discuss the artistic concerns, technological issues and broader questions raised by the ongoing production of their works; there will be a panel discussion for the public on the topic of ceramics and new technology during the residency.
