FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Local Arts Agencies To support Portable Wisconsin and technical assistance in the use of online media for arts workers and creative entrepreneurs. In an innovative partnership with the University of Wisconsin Extension and its PortalWisconsin.org website, Arts Wisconsin will develop mobile web apps, content syndication widgets, and geo-enabling software to give cultural organizations, creative sector entrepreneurs, news outlets, residents, and visitors individualized access to calendar information. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Folk and Traditional Arts To support State of Superior, Wisconsin Teachers of Local Culture's 2012 Here at Home Cultural Tour. The project will support a folklife survey of the state's far northwest and the Lake Superior south shore regions, which will inform a professional development program that will introduce teachers to local traditional artists and demonstrate how to integrate local culture into classroom curricula. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Challenge America To support a performance featuring Express Yourself Milwaukee (EYM) participants. EYM programming exposes inner-city youth ages seven to 21 to the performing and visual arts and provides performance opportunities in collaboration with guest artists.
