FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Local Arts Agencies To support Niwot's Arrow, including the Motus Theater presentation of Rocks Karma Arrows, a multimedia contemporary theater work exploring Boulder's history through the lens of race and class. The Niwot's Arrow program will also include a collaborative, improvisational performance by Motus Theater and Playback Theater West, reflecting on the life of Arapahoe Chief Niwot and the audience reaction to reading and viewing exhibits on his life. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Arts Education To support Writers in the Schools Colorado. Trained master teachers and writers will conduct 6- to 10-week residencies. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Theater To support the Curious New Voices Youth Playwriting Program, a program aimed at developing young playwrights ages 15-21. Project activities will include a Summer Writing Intensive, outreach classes, an opportunity for students to share their writing with their peers, and ongoing mentoring to develop and present original plays in a showcase performance at the theater. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Arts Education To support Stories Matter, a museum education project. Students will have the opportunity to work with acclaimed artist Dona Laurita for three months on several projects incorporating writing, photography, visual arts, and communication. Student-created art works will contribute to the museum's new traveling exhibit to be developed for local libraries and schools. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Visual Arts To support exhibitions related to the national conference for the ceramic arts to be held in Houston. NCECA will mount more than 100 exhibitions of ceramic art in the greater Houston area as part of the 2013 conference; additionally an exhibition in Santa Fe, New Mexico, will be planned to coincide with the 45th General Assembly of the International Academy of Ceramics.
