To support the production of a television series intended for national broadcast. Named for the 12-year-old radio program, Louisiana Crossroads, the television series will feature the indigenous music and cultural influences of southwest Louisiana. The six, one-hour programs include concert footage, interviews, and images that convey the nature of the people and place.

To support the River City Jazz Masters concert series and the Listening Room, an accompanying pay-what-you-can jazz series. Proposed artists David Holland, Brad Mehldau, Jane Monheit, and Chucho Valdes, among others, will conduct master classes and participate in artist residencies for local K-12 and college students, as well as perform in two concerts scheduled to be held at the Manship Theatre.

To support the presentation of the EMERGE series. A partnership with the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation, the project will present works and related educational activities by music, theater, and visual artists who have migrated to New Orleans post-Hurricane Katrina, including musicians Khris Royal and Leon "Kid Chocolate" Brown, visual artists Alyssa Dennis and Grace Mikell, and theater companies Goat in the Road Productions and Artist International Connection.

To support the Mid-City Bayou Boogaloo Festival. The music and arts festival includes live performances on three stages, featuring nearly 300 musicians of the blues, jazz, zydeco, Cajun, and rock genres, such as Cyril Neville & Tribe 13 and Beausoliel avec Michael Doucet (NEA National Heritage Fellow); as well as a kids' stage for children's entertainment and activities.

To support the production and tour of Shreveport Opera Xpress (SOX) which will offer performances at schools and community centers. To support the 27th annual Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary Festival and the 11th annual Saints and Sinners Literary Festival. Both festivals feature readings, panel discussions, master classes, playwriting and fiction writing contests, a book fair, and adjunct components such as touring visiting writers to area high schools.

To support the production and national distribution of American Routes, a weekly radio series devoted to the roots of popular music and popular roots music. Folklorist Nick Spitzer hosts the two-hour, weekend program, in which he combines recordings with in-studio performances, field recordings, and interviews. Public Radio International distributes the series to 268 public radio stations, reaching 375 cities and towns.

To support a series of online seminar and critique sessions for a professional development program for teachers and teaching artists across Louisiana, Mississippi, and in Knoxville, Tennessee. The project will provide extensive training and ongoing support in the use of improvisational theater games to engage students in learning subject matter from Common Core Standards in English, theater arts, and other subjects, as well as key developmental and 21st-century workplace skills.
