FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Folk and Traditional Arts To support Traditional Arts in Contemporary Indiana Communities, organized by Traditional Arts Indiana. Traditional Arts Indiana will create a series of exhibit panels featuring traditional artists that will travel to libraries across the state; present public programs such as concerts and workshops; and produce a website about the artists. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Museum To support the exhibiton The Faces of Neo-Impressionism. The exhibition will explore the character, context, and diversity of Neo-Impressionist portraiture through the presentation of approximately 45 paintings and 20 works on paper by 19 artists such as Georges Seurat, Paul Signac, Maximilien Luce, Théo van Rysselberghe, Vincent van Gogh, and Jan Toorop. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Theater and Musical Theater To support two-week residencies for playwrights in New Harmony, Indiana, to develop new work with dramaturgical and production support. The program culminates in public readings and discussions and is augmented by educational components involving local high school and college students as well as a partnership with Butler University's playwriting program. FIELD/DISCIPLINE: Dance To support presentations of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, David Parsons Dance Company, and Diavolo at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center. Each company will offer residency activities on campus and in the community, including master classes, pre- and postperformance talks, public lectures, and lecture-demonstrations.
