To support AbunDANCE, an evening of dance performances which will consist of repertory work and a commissioned world premiere. The company will perform Trey McIntyre's High Lonesome, Julia Adam's Crossing, Shapiro and Smith's George and Betty's House, and Ballet Memphis dancer Steven McMahon will create a new ballet focused on family.

To support guest dance artists in a residency celebrating the Pas de Deux (dance for two) in Chattanooga. Residency activities will include a public performance at the Tivoli Theater, free community outreach classes, and intermediate and advanced-level master classes at facilities throughout the city, targeting low-income youth and aspiring young dance students.

To support a series of musical performances and arts workshops for older adults living in nursing homes in the Mid-South. Conducted by selected local visual and performing artists, the programming will offer opportunities for creative experience and expression to all nursing home residents, regardless of physical, cognitive, or financial limitations.

To support SoLe Sanctuary - A Hoofer's Meditation on the Art of Tap, featuring tap dancer Savion Glover. The Centre's Arts Access program will provide free tickets and ticket subsidies for low-income residents and Glover's community outreach activities will include a lecture and demonstration for low-income, African American students attending Title I schools and a post-performance discussion for the general public.

Jubilee Community Arts, Inc. (aka The Laurel Theater)

To support traditional music programming at the Laurel Theater that is also broadcast on local radio. Jubilee Community Arts will support fieldwork to identify, document, and present local traditional musicians, as well as present recognized regional and national traditional artists, such as NEA National Heritage Fellows Clyde Davenport, Ralph Stanley, and Kevin Burke.

To support the Fanciulla Project, a six-week immersion in Puccini's La Fanciulla del West. The work serves as the foundation of a variety of educational activities including performances at K-12 schools and colleges, seminars for undergraduate students and the public, master classes, an exhibition at the Knoxville Museum of Art, a screening of the 1938 film, and a free concert at a local high school that will target underserved groups in the Appalachian region as well as the inner-city.

To support a traveling exhibition and catalogue featuring the contemporary artist Marisol (b. 1930). The retrospective of approximately 50 works -- both sculptures and works on paper -- will demonstrate the artist's use of various media including bronze casting, wood carving, assemblage, plaster casts, and terra cotta.

To support Student Heritage Day, a multidisciplinary, Appalachian cultural festival targeting youth in rural Tennessee. Economically disadvantaged youth will participate in a series of workshops covering pottery, fiber arts, vocal instruction, dulcimer music, and buck dancing among other traditional Appalachian art forms.

To support the creation and presentation of a new ballet choreographed by Gina Patterson. The work will be accompanied by live music performed by local artists, which the company has been committed to presenting for several years.

To support the creation and performance of an original dance work based on Anansi the Spider, a fictional character who plays a prominent role in a series of popular West African folk tales. Combining African, modern, and ballet dance, the performance will be choreographed by Adrian Couch, be adapted and directed by Anthony Horne, and will target economically disadvantaged African American families.
