Judge Evan Wallach

Judge Evan J. Wallach, one of the nation's most foremost experts on war crimes and the law of war, is a Federal Judge for the United States Court of International Trade. After serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, Wallach completed his B.A. at the University of Arizona in 1973. He received his J.D. in 1976 from the University of California Berkeley, and he received his LLB (with honors) in International Law from Cambridge University in 1981. He later served as General Counsel and Public Policy Advisor to U.S. Senator Harry Reid. During the Gulf War, he worked at the Pentagon as an Attorney/Advisor in the International Affairs Division of the Office of The Judge Advocate of the Army. His military honors include a Bronze Star, an Air Medal, a Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Vietnam Campaign Medal (3 battle stars), and RVN Cross of Gallantry with Palm. He is the author of the International Law Of War Association’s on-line text www.lawofwar.org. Judge Wallach has taught courses in the Law of War at the University of Münster and numerous schools of law.
