Washington, DC -- In the latest stop on the Art Works tour, scheduled for Monday, April 5, NEA Chairman Rocco Landesman will visit Boise, Jerome, and Twin Falls, Idaho. Chairman Landesman is coming to Idaho at the invitation of U.S. Representative Mike Simpson. The chairman is traveling to these three communities to learn how the arts work in Idaho and will include meetings with Boise Mayor David Bieter and former National Council on the Arts members Louise McClure and Mark Hofflund.

 Boise
 

8:30 a.m.

 

Tour the Esther Simplot Performing Arts Academy
The Esther Simplot Performing Arts Academy is the administrative and rehearsal home of the Boise Philharmonic, Ballet Idaho, and Opera Idaho.
Location: 516 South 9th Street

9:15 a.m.

 

Meet arts and community leaders at the Esther Simplot Performing Arts Academy
The meeting will include arts and community leaders representing Idaho arts organizations in the Treasure Valley.

 Jerome
 

1:00 p.m.

 

Attend Shakespearience performance and workshop at Jerome High School
The event will include an abridged performance of Othello and a workshop following. Shakespearience is an education program that is a part of the NEA’s Shakespeare in American Communities initiative.
Location: 125 4th Ave. West


 Twin Falls
 

2:30 p.m.

 

Tour the Twin Falls Center for the Arts (under construction)
The center will be the new home of the Magic Valley Arts Council, providing arts services and programs to the Twin Falls region.
Location: 195 River Vista Place
