The Waynesboro Symphony provides communities in Augusta and Albemarle counties with Free Symphonic programing. Our String School currently works with local Boys and Girls Clubs, currently giving 50 young boys and girls at no charge, their own violin plus free weekly lessons throughout the school year. An exciting result of this program is that all the string school students have achieved improvement in their science grades. The Waynesboro Symphony is supported, in part, by The Virginia Commission for the Arts an organization that relies, in part, for funding from The National Endowment. The value of this Boys and Girls Club program is undeniable, demonstrating the vital importance of the National Endowment funds made available to The Virginia Commission for the Arts.
