For as long as I can remember, ballet has been a key part of my identity. When I dance, the world makes sense, and the fears and worries of the day melt away as I match my movement to music. Even though I no longer dance as much as I once did, I credit my dance training for many positive aspects of who I am today. Ballet taught me to be detail-oriented, disciplined, and determined. In the studio, I learned the reward of hard work and the beauty of artistic expression. I gained a deeper appreciation for history and cultural traditions, which are chronicled by dance styles and choreography through the years. Without a doubt, the arts have made me a better person, and in whatever I choose to do in life, I know my dance background will help me.
