I grew up, coming from poverty and found solace in the arts – through movies, music, theatre, books; all the things that make me a well-rounded human being. I can’t imagine my life if the arts were to be taken away, and even now, when I’m not involved in the creative process, I feel my spirits sink and I immediately look for a creative outlet, whether collaborative or solo.

I believe it’s important for us as a people, and us as a nation, to continue to pursue the arts, to discover truths about ourselves and those around us, and to further enhance the already wonderful contributions that we as a civilization have made.
