MY ART STORY by

The arts literally saved my life. I was 16 years old and my brother, who was 14, passed away. I was very depressed and no one knew what to do to get me out of it. His teacher was a director at a local community theater, and suggested that I come down and volunteer. They asked me to be an extra in Our Town, and opening night...with the lights, costumes, and audience...the storytelling was new and brilliant. I've spent the rest of my life in theater, and it has been joyous.
