I am a 26-year old professional pianist. The arts, specifically music, are an integral part of my life. I spend my time accompanying choirs full-time, teaching piano lessons, singing in choirs, walking, and reading about music and theology. I believe Johann Sebastian Bach when he said the aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul. This gives me a final, clear purpose to music. For me, music is the most beautiful, refreshing art because it requires the composer, performer, and listener to experience subtle changes in sight and hearing through the passage of time. In other words, it involves the greatest effort of our senses. Everyone in my family has taken music lessons, and I was privileged enough to have parents that encouraged me to keep studying music. I love helping my students and audiences experience the joy of music. I would like to invest my time and my career promoting sacred music that refreshes the soul.
