Bridget Zangueneh serves as director of Visual Arts and Museums at the National Endowment for the Arts. In this position, Zangueneh manages the Art Endowment’s visual arts and museums portfolio, including the Blue Star Museums initiative and the arts and artifacts indemnity program.

Zangueneh has more than 15 years of experience in the fields of museums, visual arts, and advancement. Before joining the NEA, she was the director of Foundation, Government, and Corporate Affairs at The Phillips Collection in Washington, DC. For over a decade, Zangueneh secured grant funds and sponsorships that supported every facet of the museum—including special exhibitions, artist commissions, paid internships, conservation projects, facility improvements, technology upgrades, arts education programs, community engagement initiatives, and more. A trusted leader, Zangueneh represented her department throughout the Phillips’s strategic planning process and executive transitions, and secured unprecedented support during the Phillips’s Centennial Campaign.

She’s served as a grant review panelist for the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities and collaborated with embassy partners to amplify international artistic partnerships.  

Prior to the Phillips, Zangueneh held positions at International Arts & Artists / Hillyer Art Space, the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian, and Musée du quai Branly (Paris, France). Zangueneh has a degree in Anthropology and minor in Museum Studies from Florida State University as well as a Certificat de langue et civilisation françaises from Sorbonne Université, Paris, France.
