It's Back to School ... for Rocco

Washington, DC

Rocco will return to his alma mater, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, to kick off Illuminate: Year of the Arts, a year-long celebration of the power and purpose of the arts. From September 2010 to August 2011, the university has planned more than 300 performances, exhibitions, symposia, publications, and more.  While in Madison, Rocco will also visit with city officials involved in the creation of the new Central Park located in the heart of the city. The City of Madison recently received an MICD 25 grant to support the commission of a public art piece by environmental artist Lorna Jordan that will grace the yet-to-be-realized park.

From Madison, Rocco will drive east on I-94 to Milwaukee. His hosts there, the Cultural Alliance of Milwaukee and Creativity Works!, have organized a panel discussion at the Milwaukee Art Museum entitled ?The Role of the Creative Sector in Community and Economic Development,? moderated by Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor Lawson.
