A playlist celebrating the music of NEA National Heritage Fellows!

The NEA National Heritage Fellows Concert Celebration is one heck of a good party, and what's a party without music? Not only do legendary traditional artists such as ceramicist Veronica Castillo, sweetgrass basketmaker Mary Jackson, or shipwright Harold Burnham give dazzling on-stage demonstrations of their crafts, but you can usually count on dynamic performances by the more musically-inclined honorees to get the audience doing (more than) a little chair dancing. To get you warmed up for the 2014 event (which you can attend in person if you're in the DC area or online at arts.gov if you're not), here's a YouTube playlist featuring some of the folk and traditional musicians who've been honored with the NEA National Heritage Fellowship over the past decade, including 2014 Heritage Fellows Manuel "Cowboy" Donley and the Holmes Brothers. The videos below are just a sample of who--and what--you'll find on the playlist. Enjoy!
