Today, back in 1858, Minnesota became the nation?s 32nd state. Thirty-eight years, 4 months, and 13 days later, at 481 Laurel Avenue in St. Paul -- the state?s second largest city -- Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald became one of Minnesota?s newest citizens. In 1925, thanks to Fitzgerald?s jazz-soaked imagination, another memorable Midwesterner made his debut -- the bigger-than-life Jay Gatsby.
