New Haven Symphony Orchestra

Tue, 2016-08-30 15:25 -- Don Ball

A new orchestral work by New Haven Symphony Orchestra's composer-in-residence Hannah Lash will explore the Voynich Manuscript, which dates back to the 15th or 16th century and has never been deciphered. Housed at Yale University's Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, the manuscript is one of the most searched-for items in the collections. Lash will create the piece over her two-year residency, and the orchestra will perform the each of the four movements of the work over the course of two seasons.
