Painted Bride Art Center/HARP: Healing Arts through Replicable Practice

Tue, 2017-01-17 16:53 -- Don Ball

Artists in dance, theater, and spoken-word will collaborate with Healing Hurt People (HHP), a hospital-based program at Drexel University's Center for Nonviolence and Social Justice. Designed to reduce re-injury and retaliation among youth victims of violence, HHP uses a trauma-informed approach to address the physical, emotional, and social needs of the participants. Over the course of several months, artists will add a creative component to HHP's existing program through a series of weekly movement, creative writing, and theater workshops.
