The Tamarack Foundation for the Arts provides business training and education; financial assistance; and building bridges between creatives, consumers, government, the nonprofit sector, and West Virginia communities. Organized in 2003, the foundation was charged with advancing creative enterprise across the state, including
helping to grow and sustain the viable pool of candidates selling work in the largest in-state marketplace for artists, Tamarack, based in Beckley. Since then, the foundation now encourages entrepreneurship, business expansion, and job creation through the arts in West Virginia for more than 2,000 artists each year.
