BYAEP and Beyond: The Past, Current and Future Needs of Youth Arts Organizations Using Data to Inform Program Impact

The webinar will provide an overview to the Boston Youth Arts Evaluation Project (BYAEP), including the context and history of the project, how and why it was developed, and a review of the logic model framework and tools. Käthe Swaback, Program Director from Raw Art Works in Lynn, MA will share how BYAEP currently is being used, adapted and refined by RAW and other youth arts organizations nationwide. In addition, Julia Gittleman, a Boston-based consultant who focuses on performance measurement with non-profit organizations, will share how Boston-area youth arts organizations have come together to create the Youth Arts Impact Network, in order to establish and share best practices related to data gathering and measurement for youth-serving arts organizations. Finally we will put this work in a national context. Organizations across the country are expressing an increased interest in and need for effective and efficient data gathering practices and systems, with the goal of using youth-level data to inform programmatic decision-making and increase program impact.
