Evaluation as a Tool for Creative Placemaking

Thursday, July 27, 2017 - 13:30

Patricia Moore Shaffer, the NEA’s Deputy Director for Research and Analysis, will tell us how program evaluation can play a role in designing and implementing creative placemaking programs. Patricia will be joined by researchers Rachel Engh of Metris Arts Consulting and Lynn Osgood of GO collaborative. The speakers will highlight the role of evaluation in three different creative placemaking projects and discuss approaches to the development of theories of change, which describe how and why a desired community change is expected to happen and how the arts are linked to the results the projects are expected to achieve. The speakers will also discuss the incorporation of evaluation practices within these projects. Please join us! This will be an accessible conversation regardless of your experience with program evaluation, and will end with an opportunity for you to pose questions to our presenters.

Please note that the meeting will be limited to the first 125 attendees. If we have met capacity, the meeting will be archived.
