Building Resiliency: Emerging Forms & Collaborative Networks

On August 2, 2017, the NEA released State of the Field: A Report from the Documentary Sustainability Summit. Issued in partnership with International Documentary Association (IDA), the report highlights key findings and recommendations from the Documentary Sustainability Summit, held in February 2017 at the NEA offices, that brought together leaders in the documentary community alongside leaders from government and the arts.

Cultivating cross-sector networks is a key factor in building resiliency that will contribute to a more sustainable future for the documentary community. This is especially critical during this time of evolving technologies, emerging business models, transforming consumer behavior, and uncertainty about future legal and regulatory frameworks. Following the presentation, there will be a Q&A session with the panelists and webinar participants.

Presenters include: International Documentary Association Director of Programming & Policy Claire Aguilar, MIT Open Doc Lab Documentarian Kat Cizek, MIT Open Doc Lab Director Sarah Wolozin, and Ruthie Doyle (Sundance Institute New Frontier Lab Programs).
