Posted March 2019

The subject of this profile is the Arts and Cultural Production Satellite Account (ACPSA), which is produced jointly by the NEA’s Office of Research & Analysis and the Bureau of Economic Analysis, U.S. Commerce Department. Among other data, the ACPSA reveals the size of the arts and cultural sector and its contributions to the U.S. economy, the number of workers employed by those industries and their compensation figures, consumer expenditures on arts and culture, and import/export activity.

The graphics below illustrate 2016 findings from the ACPSA. Using the drop-down list, select from a variety of arts and cultural industries to learn how much value and growth they have added to the U.S. GDP.
