The NEA grant will support the commission and installation of public artwork along Norwalk's West Avenue Corridor. Norwalk Redevelopment Agency will issue a call to artists and convene a jury to select and commission public art for West Avenue. Project partners include the Center for Contemporary Printmaking, Norwalk Advisory Commission on the Arts and Culture, Norwalk Preservation Trust, and Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County. Public art will advance the goals of the Norwalk Connectivity Master Plan by creating a more hospitable point of connection between neighborhoods for the 16,000 nearby residents and the 40,000 daily vehicle trips that pass through the corridor. The population of Norwalk is 83,000.
