Jennifer Kareliusson

Acting Dance Director, Division Coordinator

Jennifer Kareliusson was appointed acting director of Dance at the National Endowment for the Arts in April 2017. She oversees the NEA’s grantmaking in dance, a portfolio that includes grants to organizations for projects such as the commissioning and development of dance works, presentation and touring of dance companies, dance festivals, artist residencies, and services to the field.

In her dual role as division coordinator for Performing Arts, she manages application guidelines, policy development, grant application review processes, and national leadership initiatives for the fields of dance, music, opera, theater, musical theater, and jazz.

Jennifer held prior positions as international activities specialist and executive assistant to the Senior Deputy Chairman at the NEA. Her international experience includes work at the American Embassy in Paris, with the State Department's International Organizations Bureau in Washington, DC, and at the Barbican Centre in London. Trained as a dancer since childhood, Jennifer holds a B.A. in Theater and Dance and a Master's degree in Arts Management.
