What does your zodiac sign say about which Big Read novel you should read next? Whether you are an adventurous Aries or an ambitious Capricorn, we’ve got some book suggestions for you! Leave it to the stars to pick your fate. Aquarius Suggestion: In the Time of the Butterflies You’re compassionate and sympathetic, making Julia Alvarez’s novel, In the Time of the Butterflies, a great match for you. The novel will transport you to a time where brutal politics shake up the lives of innocent civilians, leading to the greater fight for freedom. Pisces Suggestion: Housekeeping You’re selfless and sensitive, which makes Marilynne Robinson’s Housekeeping, a quiet joy to dive into as it shines light on loss and survival. Aries Suggestion: The Adventures of Tom Sawyer You’re courageous, adventurous, and impulsive! What better book to read than Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, a classic tale of what happens when childhood unexpectedly collides with adulthood. Taurus Suggestion: My Ántonia You’re warmhearted and determined. For this reason, you may enjoy Willa Cather’s My Ántonia, a tale of love, friendship, and tragedy set in the Great Plains.  Gemini Suggestion: Silver Sparrow You’re curious and intellectual by nature, which is why you might enjoy the dueling point-of-views in Tayari Jones’ Silver Sparrow, a coming-of-age story about two half-sisters, only one of whom knows of their familial bond. Cancer Suggestion: The Joy Luck Club You thrive on loving and nurturing those around you. Check out Amy Tan’s The Joy Luck Club, which looks at the equally tender and frustrating relationships between four pairs of mothers and daughters.  Leo Suggestion: A Lesson Before Dying With your generous spirit and leadership potential, you might enjoy Ernest J. Gaines A Lesson Before Dying. Set in the middle of the last century, it explores the relationship between two men—a teacher and a Death Row inmate—as they each come to terms with what it means to be fully human. Virgo Suggestion: The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter You’re shy, but loyal. You might like Carson McCullers The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter, which explores the lives of a handful of small-town denizens, each of whom feels like an outsider in their own way. Libra Suggestion: The Great Gatsby You’re romantic and you love to be social. You might enjoy F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, a classic tale of lost love found—and lost again—set in the roaring twenties. Scorpio Suggestion: Bless me, Ultima You’re emotional and intuitive. Look into reading Rudolfo Anaya’s Bless me, Ultima, a New Mexico-set novel that explores the fine line between reality and mysticism through the relationship between a young boy and a spiritual healer. Sagittarius Suggestion: Love Medicine You’re honest and straightforward. Check out Louise Erdrich’s Love Medicine, a generational saga which follows the ups and downs of a Midwestern Native American family. Capricorn Suggestion: Their Eyes Were Watching God You are ambitious, which lends us to suggest that you try Zora Neale Hurston’s Their Eyes Were Watching God, the vibrant, yet aching story of a teenage girl taking her destiny into her own hands.  Find out more about these books and browse the entire Big Read library at neabigread.org
