I am so grateful to the National Endowment for the Arts and to the panel of readers for your support. I am still in disbelief that I am among this year’s group of fellows. For nearly a decade, I have been writing around various full-time jobs, spending early mornings and late nights at coffee shops. I’ve relished these pockets of time, crafting short stories in bursts. Since starting work on a new novel, I’ve been craving more concentrated time to think and write. This NEA grant has come at the perfect moment. I am truly invigorated by this recognition and feel encouraged to make more room than I ever have for writing. Thank you for your interest in these strange stories of mine.
