Jimmy Heath: I?ve been with other companies and they demand certain things, ?Well, we gotta sell this, we gotta do this, we gotta...? and tell you how to play and what to play.  Orrin Keepnews would allow you to bring your own material.  If he hired you, he had enough faith in you, that he would let you do your thing. I think what Orrin did for jazz will go down in history.  He?s a cult figure, as far as jazz music is concerned.
