Sheila Jordan:  I try to spread the word when I teach.  I want these kids to know this is a wonderful music.  But you’ll have to dedicate your life to it. MUSIC: post for punctuation NEA JAZZ MASTER SHEILA JORDAN… Sheila Jordan:  The one wonderful thing about singers today is they have the advantage that I did not have growin’ up.  They have the advantage of going to an actual school where they TEACH jazz.  And where they can LEARN how to play the piano and where they can LEARN chord changes and rhythms.  I didn’t have that when I was a kid. So I tell them that.  You don’t know how lucky you kids are.  You’ve got all of this out there for ya.  Take advantage of it, you know?
