Todd Barkan: One of the most important things I’ve done in my life in music was working with the Boys Choir of Harlem, because I helped create a working ensemble that traveled all over the world.

I put them together with people like Kenny Burrell and Billy Taylor and Grady Tate and other musicians, and we did recordings together. Kenny Burrell did a great recording with him called “Love is the Answer,” which he wrote the music and the lyrics for.

And doing that work with the Boys Choir of Harlem was one of the most satisfying experiences of my whole life in music. It was a fantastic experience that I treasure to this day.
