Sheila Jordan: To keep the music alive is what it’s all about for me. I mean, if I lost my voice tomorrow and couldn’t sing tomorrow does that mean I’d give up? No. I’d keep teaching or I’d keep supporting -- going out and hearing music and giving moral support. This music, I live with it 24 hours a day. It never leaves me, it’s always with me. From the time I get up in the morning until I go to bed. I think I even dream about it, I’m sure it’s with me when I dream. So that’s what it’s all about for me. No divas, none of that stuff. I don’t want that. That’s not what I am. And I’m not putting it down. I am not putting a diva down. I’m just not comfortable with that term. I just want to be a messenger of the music. That’s what I’m here for.

Her goal was never to be a star, but to shine a spotlight on the music. [1:30]
