The five winners of the Knight/NEA Community Arts Journalism Challenge were announced in a webcast from the Grantmakers in the Arts conference in San Francisco on October 10, 2011. The event included presentations by NEA Senior Deputy Chairman Joan Shigekawa and Knight Foundation Vice-President for the Arts Dennis Scholl and a discussion with the five winners.
