Report Overview: State of the Documentary Field

On August 2, 2017, the NEA released State of the Field: A Report from the Documentary Sustainability Summit. Issued in partnership with International Documentary Association (IDA), the report highlights key findings and recommendations from the Documentary Sustainability Summit, held in February 2017 at the NEA offices, that brought together leaders in the documentary community alongside leaders from government and the arts. On August 10, 2017, NEA Media Arts Director Jax Deluca, International Documentary Association Executive Director Simon Kilmurry, and project consultant Michael Bracy gave an overview of the report's five key findings and recommended actions.
