Frank Stella first made his name in the visual arts as one of the Abstract Expressionists. From there he broadened his approach, designing sets for choreographer Merce Cunningham and moving from painting into sculptures. Soon he was painting cars for BMW and creating large-scale murals and public art pieces. But it all started with art classes as a child, as he reminisces in this excerpt from the Art Works podcast.
