A Look Back: NEA National Heritage Fellowships Concerts

By Rebecca Sutton
On September 15, we're celebrating the 2017 NEA National Heritage Fellowships Concert. Even more exciting? Tickets are now available! (Concert and ticket info here.) If you've never been to this free event, you can expect to see a dazzling array of American art forms, many of which are rooted in traditions from around the globe. At this year's concert for instance, you'll hear the sounds of bomba music and Hawaiian slack key guitar, tap along with the rhythmic steps of a traditional buckdancer, and learn about the arts of Chilkat weaving and Armenian metal repoussé. To give you a sense of the concert's magic, you'll find photos from the past ten concerts below. Click here for our full collection of visual slideshows, or watch a video of last year's concert in full.
